Harderwijk two assistant trainers richer, in the field of kickboxing and youth

Job Kuijpers and Marius Foppen have worked hard over the past year to develop their trainer skills. After this adventure I asked both brand new trainers to write a report about their perception and experience. we as nakama wish you a lot of wisdom and development in developing as Sempai.

Sunday September 13 I got my diploma assistant kickboxing trainer!! (Job Kuijpers)

Sunday September 13, we traveled with a group to the Colloseum to take our exams for the diploma. We had to show an exam lesson of 20 minutes with a warming up, two core lessons and a cooling down, this was after following 8 Sundays with theory and practical lessons, 2 outdoor training sessions including a night training, organizing an event and a few hours of internship. We also had to do homework for each course day and accompany a competition fighter during a competition. And make a portfolio of this at the end of the training.

The teaching days were once a month on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. With a group of 24 people and 5 teachers, we had theory in the morning and put the theory into practice in the afternoon.

It was great fun getting to know all those new people and thinking about kickboxing together, but we also needed each other to, for example, carry a stretcher with a team member over a 7 km stretch. I learned a lot from the others, especially from the way of teaching.

I found the training very difficult in the beginning because I had never been in front of a strange group to teach, but after practicing several times and good feedback it got easier and more fun.< /p>

I followed the training together with Marius, unfortunately he failed during the exams, he will soon be taking the re-exams. Good luck!!!

Job

Hello, (Marius Foppen)

About three-quarters of a year ago, John Kuipers asked me if I would like to do a course.
I felt a tightness behind my ear and needed some time to think about it whether I wanted to. I had time to think about it. The time I got flew by, because yes John had to give me up for a certain time to be able to start the course in February this year. With all the tensions in my body I took it with both hands and John gave up on me.

I received a letter at home confirming that I was allowed to participate in the course. Together with Job we drove to Utrecht on Sunday 22 February to start our first course day. The course was once every 3-4 weeks on a Sunday and started from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We had 8 Sundays of which 6 were for assistant coach and 2 for youth kickboxing teacher. We entered the Colosseum together where the others gathered in the meantime. Together with 22 other classmates we started the lesson at 10 o'clock. First introduce each other and then immediately dive into the folder with the teaching material.

Until noon we were given theory together and then we were allowed to put it into practice in the afternoon. After every theory lesson we had, we were given an assignment to take home to work it out and hand it in to the teacher.

On August 30, we all had a nice night training. The lesson was woven into that night training. every assignment we get had something to do with the course. It was a tough (and in retrospect) a fun night training full of emotions.

Finally the time has come and the exam has arrived. The exam was on Sunday 13 September. Because the group was so large, it was divided into three during the exam. 3 fields with 2 examiners each. We had to bring or arrange at least 6 people per person so that we could take our exam. Job and I were both assigned to a different field. I was allowed to take the exam as 2nd in field 3. Job was 4th in field 1. So we could be together in the exam. Unfortunately, after my class I was told that I had failed and luckily could take a resit at another time.

After I had taken my resit, I (after having evaluated my feeling for a long time) still received a hand with the result that I passed.
I was very happy that I could receive my diploma and I am there proud of having been able to achieve this.

Sports Greetings,
Marius
